On July 29, 2020, a virtual meeting was held between The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University and University of California, Davis to carry forward the cooperative projects, especially the joint Summer Institute.

The two sides discussed about the arrangements for the Summer Institute with the theme of 'International Clinical Research and Precision Medicine" as well as the opening ceremony. Two modules will take place respectively on August 9 and August 25 with participants from the United States, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, and China. 5 faculty and 16 fellows from FAH-SYSU have been elected to participate in this training course.

This will be the first time that the two institutions jointly organize international training courses, which is of great significance in promoting cooperation between the two sides in the field of precision medicine, clinical research and continuing education.
