Official Launching of the Dominica-China Cardiovascular Imaging Center and Telemedicine Center

On July 7, 2023, the Dominica-China Cardiovascular Imaging Center and Telemedicine Center were officially launched in Dominica. ?Hua Chunying, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC, Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica, and senior officials from both countries attended the ceremony. ?Delegates from FAH-SYSU invited to the event include Dr. Xiao Haipeng, Executive Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University and President of FAH-SYSU, Dr. Kuang Ming, Vice President of FAH-SYSU, and other doctors and administrators.

“The China-Dominica Cardiovascular Imaging Center will provide a fully-equipped cardiology unit and contribute to the health and well-being of the people, an embodiment of China-Dominica friendship,” tweeted Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying on Twitter.

Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Hua Chunying also stressed that China has sent five medical teams with some 30 experts to Dominica over the past 14 years. ?Among them, Dr. Wu Dexi from FAH-SYSU alone has treated over 5,000 patients, which is an epitome of 60 years of Chinese foreign medical assistance.
