Biography
Professor Sun was?engaged for?a?long?period?of?time?in clinic, research and teaching duty of Urology and Andrology. He is the Chairman designate of Andrology Branch of Guangdong Medical Association. In recent years, he conducted a series of research work on the mechanism and application of stem cells in the treatment of male diseases and undertook the Dr. Start-up Fund of Natural?Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, Science and Technology Planning Project of Guangdong Province, the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Youth Foundation etc. He took part in more than 10 fund projects, including the National Key Technologies R&D Program of China during the 10th Five-Year Plan Period, the Asia-Pacific Urology Fund and the projects supported by Ministry of Health, Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City. As the first author or corresponding Author, he published nearly 30 papers in the domestic and foreign academic journals, such as Journal of Sexual Medicine, Asian?Journal?of?Andrology, National journal of Andrology, containing 10 papers that were indexed by SCI. In addition, he participated in the editing of nearly 10 Treatises.
He set up the andrology clinic with Professor Deng Chunhua, and developed it into one of the ?specialty?clinics of the hospital. Currently, the andrology clinic attracts a large number of patients in and out of the province. He mastered and carried out a series of andrology surgeries in the domestic advanced level, containing Implantation of penile prosthesis, Transurethral resection of ejaculatory ducts, varicocelectomy, epididymovasostomy and seminal vesicle endoscopy. Furthermore, he did in-depth scientific research on the varicocele, obstructive azoospermia, prostatitis, phallocampsis. Except Andrology, he mastered a variety of surgical techniques of Urology, such as laparoscopic adrenalectomy for adrenal adenoma, Laparoscopic Renal Cyst Unroofing, Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy, pyelolithotomy, Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy, Ureteroscopic Lithotripsy, Transurethral resection of prostate.
