Biography

Dr. Shao?conducted intensive investigation in famous Universities and institutes in the United States and China, including China Academy of Science, Emory University, Stanford University and Yale University?before?she is elected as “1000 Talent Scholar” of Sun Yat-sen University in 2016.

Dr. Shao has a strong background in immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, biochemistry and clinical research. Dr. Shao has many years of experience in studying the molecular pathology of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. She has once worked on the rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory blood vessel disease such as Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA), atherosclerosis and diabetes. Dr. Shao’s previous work have demonstrated that ATM the huge and important molecular for cell function, is inadequate in the hematopoietic lymphocyte of rheumatoid arthritis patients, which leads to DNA damage accumulation and marked dysfunction, such as cell loss, metabolic impairment, and cell differentiation imbalance in the cells from patients.?Dr. Shao recent work focus on cell metabolism and immune microenvironment.?

Dr. Shao have authored a serial of publications in the high impact journals. Such as Nature Communications, Journal of Experiment Medicine, Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A,?EMBO Molecular Medicine, Nature review Rheumatology and made sustained contribution in the field of immune-mediated inflammation diseases.
