Introduction?

The Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the important clinical specialty of Guangdong province, in Which there are 13 doctors, including 5 professors, 5 associate professors, 2 attending doctors, 1 resident doctor, 19 nurses. This specialty ward is established. There are authorized 36 beds, and 42 beds is applied in reality.

Clinical Services

The techinical strength of the Oral and maxillofacial department, ?is strong,which develope the surgeries including the oral and maxillofacial tumour, trauma treatment, deformity correction, implant,and orthognathic operations.In recent years, new technical items have been set up and routinely carried on: radioactive particle implantation for malignant tumors,cranio-maxilla combined radical operation for craniofacial tumor, Cranio maxillofacial combined plastic surgery for cranio maxillofacial deformity. Each year, the department admits the patients more than 1000 persons, and operation cases are about 1000 patients.

Education

All the doctors in this department, 9 persons got doctorate degree, 2 master degree. There are 5 tutors of doctorate candidate, 5 tutors of master candidate. In recent years, 14 postgraduates have been trained and? gotten PhD degrees, 8 gotten master degrees from the department. Every year, 2 item of national continuing? education are hold：3D printing for oral and maillofacial implant and deformity correction and minimally invasive surgery for maxillofacial tumor.

Research

In recent years, the department has been charged with 5 national scientific research items, and 18 provincial grade scientific research items.80 academic papers are published, which including 40 SCI papers. 2 academic professional books was published.
