Biography
Prof. Xie graduated from Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science. From 1994 to 1996, he conducted his postdoctoral research in the field of pleura diseases in University of California Irvine and he was visiting scientist in Long Beach Veterans Medical Center, University of California. He is also chairman of Internal medicine Society in Guangdong, former chairman of Guangdong Thoracic Society and member of Chineses Thoracic Society as well.
Prof. Xie focuses his study either on clinical or basic research and he has established an international reputation in respiratory diseases including pleural diseases, pulmonary infectious diseases, COPD and lung cancer. He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Am Respir Crit Care Med, Chest, Lung and Respirology. He is also editor-in-chief or editorial board member for several academic Journals, such as Chin J Tuberc Respir Dis, Seminars in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (Chinese edition) and International Pleural Newsletter.
