Biography

Zhang Weixi, is a Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Neurology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.

He specializes in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating dystonia and other neuromuscular disorders. He is also a physician with a very rich clinical experience in cerebrovascular disease, myelopathy, peripheral neuropathy, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, genetic disorders of the nervous system, dizziness, headache, insomnia, anxiety and depression.

A researcher, Dr. Zhang is committed to improving the treatment of neuromuscular disease via stem cell transplantation, and dystonia via botulinum toxin injection, with the support of the National Natural Science Founds.

Dr. Zhang has published more than 90 articles and many book chapters.

He has received many awards for his work as a clinician, researcher, and teacher:
