Biography
Dr Zhu, as a surgeon, is one of the world leading experts in liver transplant surgery. Over the last 25 years, he, as a principal surgeon, has successfully completed more than 1000 cases of liver transplantation with the highest standard of accomplishment. He has also completed many surgeries with highest complexity and created milestone history in his field. He performed the first successful abdominal multivisceral transplantation and ?the first case of combined liver & small intestine transplantation in Asian. He is one of the most welcome and highly rated surgeons at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yet-sen University. In addition to his excellent clinical achievement, Dr Zhu is an active medical researcher. His research is on liver cancer and transplant surgery broadly. Dr Zhu’s work has been widely recognized as evidenced by numerous awards and prizes won by him and the team he led. The prizes include Second Prize of National Awards on Science and Technology Progress for the “Technology innovation of abdominal multivisceral transplantation and its Popularization and Application” by the State Ministry of Science and Technology, 2015.
