AMEE Office in China 2.0 Exhibition Stand for AMEE2020
?
The annual conference of AMEE, the largest academic conference on medical education in the world, is going "virtual" this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The AMEE Office in China 2.0 is determined on fully capitalising this opportunity to engage with colleagues from around the globe. With a carefully crafted e-poster on a designated exhibition stand, we will proudly present a summary of the manifold fruits that grew out of the successful partnership from FAH-SYSU and AMEE. As the saying goes, "mighty oaks from little acorns grow."

The 2020 Issue of Medical Teacher (Chinese Version)
?
As a major part of our collaboration project, the Medical Teacher (Chinese Version) is currently in the making. Based on the contract between FAH-SYSU and the publisher Taylor and Francis, a brand-new issue of the Medical Teacher (Chinese Version) is due by the end of this year. The AMEE Office in China 2.0 has finalised the list of articles chosen for translation and recruited a team of local colleauges who are also experienced translators (most have participated in translating articles for previous issues). This team of clincians/translators have formed an interest group called the Fraternity for MedEd Translation, and have recently established a mutually beneficial partnership with the School of International Studies of Sun Yat-sen University. With help and resources from multiple fronts, the AMEE Office in China 2.0 will continue to advance the academic exchange in and promotion of medical education in China. And the Medical Teacher (Chinese Version) will serve as an important medium to that end.
Interview of the 2020 Cohort of GMU-JMHPE Candidates
?
According to the MoU signed between FAH-SYSU and Gulf Medical University (GMU) in the Emirates, another batch of six candidates will be selected for the Joint Masters in Health Professions Education (JMHPE) programme this year. The JMHPE is a two-year master programme that provides basic knowledge and research training for medical education and is a strategic step towards building leadership in medical education with research excellence for FAH-SYSU. The AMEE Office in China 2.0 has successfully organised this selection process. On Jul. 15th., seven eligible candidates were interviewed by Prof. David Taylor, one of the co-founders and supervisors of the JMHPE programme in GMU, and Prof. Trevor Gibbs, the incumbent president of AMEE, in the Telemedicine Center via Zoom. In the end, LI Jun-xun, FENG Li, LIU Juan, HE Ke, ZHANG Kun-song, and LIU Jiang-hui have earned their privileges to enroll in the JMHPE programme.
