Prof. Xiao Haipeng and Prof. Kuang Ming Shared Experience in the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at the 2020 AAHC Annual Meeting

On October 8, 2020, Prof. Xiao Haipeng, Executive Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University/ President of the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, and Prof. Kuang Ming, Vice President of the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, were invited to share anti-epidemic experience at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Academic Health Centers (AAHC). The opening ceremony was presided over by Steve Kanter, President of AAHC.

Prof. Xiao recorded a keynote speech for the 'Lessons Learned from COVID-19" session. It was pointed out that the hard-earned achievement of FAH-SYSU was inseparable from organizational leadership, scientific prevention and control, and international cooperation. He stressed the importance of establishing a crisis management mechanism with international cooperation.

Prof. Kuang Ming participated in the panel discussion thereafter with Mohamed Sayegh, Senior Lecturer at Harvard Medical School, Robert Golden, Vice Chancellor for Medical Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Wayne Riley, President of the SUNY Downstate Health Science University.

FAH-SYSU was the only representative from China invited to share experience on epidemic prevention and control during the meeting.

AAHC is a non-profit organization that advances health and well-being through the vigorous leadership of academic health centers.?FAH-SYSU, together with Peking University Health Science Center, Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, and Tongji University School of Medicine, are the only four Chinese members of the Association.
