Introduction?

Division?of Hypertension and Vascular Disease?of the?First Affiliated Hospital, SYSU, national?research platform?for clinic and basic scientific research,，is the first faculty in?China specialized in prevention and treatment, scientific research and medical education of hypertension and vascular disease. We provide patients with?comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation, clinical and applied study?of cardiovascular diseases including hypertension, coronary artery disease, periphery vascular disease, cardiac arrhythmia and heart failure.

Clinical Services????

Equipped with multilevel?personnel structure?and complete facilities, our division?specialized?in diagnosis and treatment of common and complicated cardiovascular diseases. We has built up a comprehensive evaluation?platform?for non-invasive vascular?function assessment. Our division?have perform?cardiovascular intervention etc. coronary intervention, electrophysiological therapy and peripheral artery intervention. We possess?diverse approaches for secondary hypertension and?standard strategies for hypertension prevention.

Education

Our division?has?four doctor supervisors and one master supervisor. They?are?responsible for education of undergraduates studying in Zhongshan School of Medicine, SYSU, clinical training of post doctor students, doctor students, postgraduates, residents and specialist doctors, and running of national continuing education program of early detection and application of vascular disease.

Research

Our faculty undertakes multiple?scientific programs now, including “Ministry of Science and Technology Major Support Program”, “Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China” and other national, provincial and municipal scientific research programs. Our clinical and scientific studies are mainly focused?on the two targets: prevention and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of hypertension; clinical evaluation, mechanism?research?and development of repair strategies of vascular dyshomeostasis.

International Collaboration

1.Collaboration in hypertension area?with Professor Anna Dominiczak, Regius Professor of Medicine, Vice Principal and Head of College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow, honorary consultant physician with the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board, some scientific achievements?have been published in international journals including Hypertension.

2.?Collaboration with Morteza Naghavi, M.D. president of MEDITEX (Medical Innovations in Texas),?in order to?apply a?noninvasive?device to evaluate endothelial function?and start?a multicenter clinical trial in China .
